Things are moving!

I showed property on Saturday. My buyer sent me a list of properties she wanted to see on Wednesday. Two of the 8 were under contract by Saturday. It seem like a sign to me!

The buyer flew in Friday night, looked at property on Saturday morning and flew out Saturday night. Speaking with other Realtors, it seems the rush in, look and buy is becoming more and more popular. Buyers are back buying again!

Yippee!

Happy Valentine's Day

Another beautiful day in Paradise. The weather in perfect. 80 degrees and no humidity.

We spent the morning helping the Elk's set up for tonight's dinner dance. It looks spectacular and they are expecting over 125!

We used our infrared Turkey fryer last night. WOW! Bill brined it for about 6 hours then let it come to room temperature. It took 2 hours to cook the 12 lb bird and boy was it juicy. The breast meat was still juicy this morning when we had a morning nibble. We added the drippings from the drip pan to some Publix gravy. Talk about concentrated Turkey flavor! Those drippings took the Publix powdered gravy and turned it into a bit of heaven.

Oh, Real Estate ~ things are starting to pick up. There are more and more properties going pending. That, is a very nice thing!

Baby Boomers and Second Homes

(From an article by Jim Woodard)

Baby Boomers are particularly active in aquiring second homes, says a study by the National Association of Realtors (NAR). Overall, about 5 percent of all Boomers own one or more second homes. For Boomer households with annual incomes of $100,000. or more 11 percent own second homes. Among all Boomers who own these properties, 88 percent own one unit and 12 percent own two or more, said the NAR report. Sixty two percent of second homeowners spend 3 to 10 days per visit at their vacation home.

If you are interest in purchasing a second home with an eye toward renting it when you are not using it, pick a location that has strong appeal to a wide range of vacation minded individuals and families - not just meeting your own special interests.

My note-The Florida Keys is one of the most popular winter time destinations. We have boating, fishing, diving, snorkling and fabulous winter weather.

Summertime brings Floridians from hotter parts of the state who wish to enjoy our ammenities with our cooling summer breezes.

January Real Estate

The Islamorada, Key Largo market continues to be slow.

I am trying to find new ways on communicating what lending options are available in this market. VA and FHA mortgages are attractive again. A Veteran can purchase a $699,000. property with as little as $36500. down. BTW I have a Great end unit Futura Townhome for sale with a 32' boat slip and a bay view for $699,000. Any of you Veteran's interested? :)

We've been back to Ziggy & Mad Dogs after a long absence. OK, I was boycotting their sharing charge. The good news is that the sharing charge no longer exists! The food is still great. I had the scallops, which were perfectly cooked.

My husband Bill had the fillet. This is only time it came to the table overcooked. The bread pudding for dessert was the best I ever had.

It's great to have Ziggy's back on "the List".
